The 2006 bond election stated that it was for FILM PRODUCTION, FILM PRODUCTION. Now after the film incentive bill has just past, they want to downsize taking away their mill shop to rent to a music company? BS. If you’re going to give sweetheart deals, give it to the locals. NOT A GROUP FROM NASHVILLE! That’s like the City of Austin making a deal with Oklahoma to build a practice field for their football program without any input from UT! There has been NO input from our community on this. New management is needed over there NOW!

I’m all for leasing the space out. It’s a good litmus test to see if AFS is really a good leading voice for artists or better suited for simply presenting and promoting films. I think they’re making a well-informed decision financially, and I hope that translates well to local and visiting artists and productions in the long run.
