Austin filmmaker Elizabeth Warnock Fernea dies

Austin filmmaker, author and UT professor Elizabeth Warnock Fernea died Tuesday in Austin. In the film world, she was esteemed for her documentaries about the Middle East — her area of expertise — including “Living with the Past: Historic Cairo,” “A Veiled Revolution: Women and Religion in Egypt” and “The Struggle for Peace: Israelis and Palestinians.”
