The problem isn’t the tabloids, we all know what they are about, but the legitimate news sources that have become tabloidized (?). It’s all about selling covers, ratings and hits, the story, the facts and the truth don’t really matter.

God bless Brad & Angelina and the real victims out there. The media became a millions times more corrupt, manipulative, deceptive, foul, and rotten in 2005 because of the immoral influence of that spin and it goes beyond the misportrayal of the those three celebrities. The media does not care about truth, morals, and reality; all they care is about what sells. This is not just about money, it is about having control over people’s emotions, thoughts, and their behavior.

I hope my earlier comment was posted. The reason that people love to believe the lies against Brad & Angelina and hate them for it is because they bought the storyline that the tabloids created back in 2005 whose foundation was on false rumor started by nasty gossipmongers. The masses senses are completely poisoned. Their viewpoint of Brad’s personality and lifestyle is wrong. There is too much to dissect regarding this but I am not even going to try because I know most people will just coldly reject it and then insult me for it. There was NO adulterous affair on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Angelina was not the cause of his divorce. If people can’t accept that truth, then they don’t understand anything about this man. He is a man of such depth, character, and substance and he is not even capable of committing adultery. The media has become so corrupt to even incorporate their distortions, fabricatons, and lies into Brad & Angelina’s own interviews, manipulating people into thinking they are saying things that feed into their misportrayal. I don’t think there has ever been a more destructive lie in Hollywood history than that infamous rumor. Brad Pitt is trapped in a hopeless and tragic situation that he cannot escape. When Brad Pitt became a single man in 2005, he was bound to take his friendship with Angelina to the next level. I do not want to get into a deep discussion of that because a blog response would not be adequate enough to try explain the truth, but the key to understanding the truth is that Brad & Angelina became the targets of a well- calculated spin and trap. The tabs kept saying they were together before they actually got together because they knew they were going to get together because of their compatibility. They knew Brad Pitt would never let gossip and rumors, no matter how nasty and intense they may be, influence his real life decisions. Their romance began in April 2005, three months AFTER his breakup was announced. Because of the false rumor that preceded his divorce, most people will never understand the truth behind why that marriage really fell apart or understand that his romance with Angelina is good and true, and how the world could have really benefitted from it. Brad being a loving and trusting person, and also aware of the fact that he had been one of the most popular, respected, and adored men in the industry for over a decade, and rightfully so, foolishly expected the public to be loyal to him. However, the public would not have been permanently brainwashed if not for the corrupt contribution of a certain somebody who wanted to take advantage of the messy situation that Brad got stuck in. This woman is a lying, conniving, deceitful, selfish, petty, vindictive, manipulative, pathetic, narcisstic, neurotic, and oppurtunistic fraud and loser who never would have ever been in the A-list without Brad Pitt. What is frightening is how this woman does not fear God and she did not care at all about how making people believe this misportrayal would have such a negative and sick impact on our already depraved world. The victim label would just enhance an already false persona that she had been manipulating people with for years and would go to ridiculous levels when she married one of Hollywood’s most beloved men. She is not a sweetheart, underdog, golden girl, ideal woman, and most certaintly not a victim of anything or anybody. Nothing could be futher from the truth. What she does not understand is that you can’t take celeb worship, power, and popularity with you to the grave. You can only take your good deeds, bad deeds, and the truth of who you really are and how you really lived your life, and how your effect on other people with you to the grave.

Thank you Mr. Corocoran, Sami, and anybody else who bothers to investigate the increasingly deceptive and disgusting media’s false claims and misportrayals. What most people don’t realize is the insane and immoral cycle of lying, manipulating, deceiving, contradicting, and insulting that Brad and Angelina are the targets of; most people have been brainwashed into actively paricipating in it. All those people will pay for their sins…will pay for their cruelty, ignorance, and shameless betrayal against one of the few men in Hollywood that is good, honest, real, and has moral values. The understanding 0f that is the only thing that keeps me from having a nervous breakdown because I cannot tolerate such enormous injustice. The constant misportrayal of these two is all based on fraudulence and deceit; was all spawned by a false rumor that would clash with his real life in such an absurd way which would cause everything to be misportrayed. The media constantly says things that contradict the facts, evidence, and the truth yet the masses continue to fall for it hook, line, and sinker. What is even worse is this deep and widespread corruption is disguising itself as morality.

Exactly, I completely agree with the previous poster. It’s also not always because of lazyness but because the tabloids want to sell copies and a scandalous headline always attracts more attention than something like Brad Pitt covers his hotel bill personally. Very sad that the Internet has turned into one massive smearing board nowadays and nobody seems to care as long as they make money off it…

I know gossip is not supposed to be taken seriously. And it seems the reputations of celebrities need not be taken seriously either. But I wonder and worry about the standards of journalism and the veracity of all sorts of reports when I see blatant lies reported in even reputable newspapers about celebrities.

I wonder if journalists and reporters are as careless with news of other public persons as they are also celebrities of sorts, I wonder how information about Ben Bernanke or Gordon Brown or any number of public figures are being bandied about with similar carelessness to truth. How do I know that the gossip section is where all of these sorts of crap-py reporting takes place.

Grey areas and flood gates. I worry.

Thank you Mr. Corcoran, for your dissection of the tabloids headlines. It is digusting that even legitimate news sources like MSNBC and ABC attach their names to articles that are not only questionable but downright lies.

It seems that everyone is too lazy to “think” beyond the headlines, it’s easy to just believe. An example is the hotel cost issue. Brad and Angelina stayed in the Waldorf Astoria in NY during most of his filming of the Coen Bros. movie. He has said on Larry King that he bore most of the cost of that because it was a low budget movie. Why would a hotel in Austin be too much, I mean the costs would not be within the same margins.

It just doesn’t make sense. But I guess gossip isn’t supposed to make sense, it’s just meant to taint and abuse.
