‘Tree of Life’ uprooted, briefly

Michael Corocoran, our crack reporter in Smithville, who calls with breathless reports about the latest Brangelina sightings and stuff like that, shoots us this latest bit from the set of Terrence Malick’s hush-hush “Tree of Life”:

“Tree of Life” has left Smithville for a week to film in the Texas Gulf Coast town of Matagorda.”

Beach shots. Fishing. Rocks. Sand. … What is Mysterious Maestro Malick up to?

If you haven’t seen Merian Cooper’s original 1933 “King Kong” or have only caught it in snippets on TV, you owe it to yourself and to all primates to watch it on the big screen in a restored version. It’s way better than you remember or have heard.

It’s stomping and chomping into the Alamo Ritz April 5, 6 and 7. Getcher tickets and more info HERE, ya big ape.
