UT film student graced with award
UT grad student Maru Buendia-Senties has won the Cary Grant Film Award at the annual Princess Grace Awards, which will be presented Oct. 25 at Sotheby’s in New York.
The award is a graduate scholarship to complete her thesis film “El Puente” (The Bridge), depicting “the Mexican-American border in a way that conveys the riveting lifestyle of its people and how their stories get lost in translation by the media.”
Previous UT film winners are Benjamin Steinbauer, John Fiege and Susan Youssef.
