Casting call!
There will be an open casting call Sunday at the Delco Center for an upcoming family movie to be filmed in Texas. The center is at 4601 Pecan Brook Drive in Austin, and the casting event runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Francine Maisler Casting, which is handling the event, would not offer any details about cast or filmmakers.

Your best ‘Nightmare’
Freddy’s back, and cleaned up. Wes Craven’s original “A Nightmare on Elm Street” has been spruced and remastered and will play Tinseltown South, Tinseltown Pflugerville and Barton Creek Cinemark at 8 p.m. Sept. 20-21. Tickets are $10 at the theater box offices.

Chong in San Marcos
— Tommy Chong will be signing copies of his new book, “The I Chong,” at 2 p.m. Aug 19 in San Marcos. The event is at Hastings, 917 S. Texas 80.
