Taylor tells (almost) all
Just got off the phone with Season 5 “American Idol” winner Taylor Hicks, and we’ve got some (admittedly minor) scoopage to pass along.
As any loyal member of the Soul Patrol knows by now, Taylor will be in San Marcos Friday night at 7 signing copies of “Heart Full of Soul,” his new book, at Hastings Books, Music & Video, 917 Texas 80. Once he’s done, Taylor tells us he plans to stick around for the weekend. Nothing specific, but we’re pretty sure he’ll pop into a live music venue or two.
Other tasty tidbits:
We tried, but Taylor wouldn’t divulge details on his love life.
A new album should materialize next year.
Look for a new DVD soon featuring Taylor live in concert.
His musical tastes run the spectrum, from Michael McDonald to Elliott Yamin.
Taylor’s apparently a big sports fan. Who knew? He loves the NFL, and also follows Alabama and Auburn universities. (He is from Alabama, after all.)
And, yes, he thinks America made the right choice by picking Jordin Sparks this season.

I really enjoyed the interview with Taylor. I guess you would say I am one of the obsessed Soul Patrol members! Can’t wait for his dvd.

I love you Taylor!!!! OMG I can’t believe you got to interview him. You’re so amazingly lucky. Was he as cute in person as he is on TV? OMG! He has the greatest voice. I can’t wait to get in line in San Marcos on Friday. This will be the best day ever!!!!

Thanks for this great interview…I guess you could say I am one of the obsessed fans…but as Taylor said, in a good way. I was just in Birmingham over the weekend to support one of his charities. Heart Full of Soul is a great read…It is very Taylor.
Can’t wait for the dvd to come out….I have been to many shows and have many more to go…it will be nice to have the dvd during Taylor’s hiatus…..hope it doesn’t last too long!

My mind reels reading some of the evidenced tragically ridiculous and infantile comments that proliferate some of these Taylor topics. Really, ladies, and I use that term loosely, leave his lady friend alone. Dubbing her the Sundress. Nice…
I hope that Taylor will have time to hit the night groove in Austin, it’s a cool scene. Taylor, if you are reading any of this nonsense, go have a beer on 6th Street and have some fun.

So, Taylor appears with his g/f at a high profile media event in a beauteous sundress and now she’s referred to as “The Sundress”? What if she’d donned some kickass strappy heels….would she then known as “The Heel”?

Love Taylor Hicks. American also got it right in 2006 Season 5. I have read his book and it must read for any Taylor Fan. It only makes you love him more. It also would be a good read for those who don’t seem to get him too.

Really appreciate the interview with Taylor! Loved hearing the latest news. Looking so forward to the DVD, I’d heard about it, wonder if any of you know when it will be released? Also very happy for Taylor and his lovely girlfriend. Taylor is an all American guy, whereas he’s not just a mega talented performer, song writer and musician, but he’s incrediably interesting. Yeah, knew he was a big time sports fan, he’d already played in two major golf tourney’s this past year! If you’ve not read his book, Heart Full Of Soul, then pick up a copy, it’s amazing, remarkable, just like Taylor!
