Clarkson cancels tour

Think things can’t get any worse for Kelly Clarkson?

Think again.

The Texan called off her summer tour today. Austin wasn’t on the list, but Dallas and Houston were.

A terse statement from her publicist blames lower-than-expected ticket sales.

But Kelly’s singing a slightly different tune on her Web site:

“I can’t tell you how much I’ve been looking forward to getting out there to perform for y’all. In the craziness of the music business, performing is what I look forward to doing the most, so it really is disappointing for me to have to tell you that I won’t be coming out to tour this summer. The fact is that touring is just too much too soon.

“But I promise you that we’re going to get back out there as soon as is humanly possible to give you a show that will be even better.

“Thanks for all of your love and continued support.”

Hmmm … maybe the execs at RCA were right. Maybe Kelly’s not-so-cheery songs are driving away fans in droves. Think so?

She can cancel her whole career for all I care. And after all, aren’t there a few more important things to worry about?

So says he, that in his worrying about the more important things in life, just took the time out to not only read this article but to comment on it. Classic. Enjoy your glass half empty life, Brian.
