Bare Jr. set added; more cancellations
Breaking news of the popularity kind: Bobby Bare Jr. is playing a second set today at 4:40 p.m. at the BMI stage. Bare is the son of country songster Bobby Bare, and Junior’s Friday set was one of that morning’s most popular.
Also looks like Los Aterciopelados and Naturally 7 have cancelled too for their Sunday spots, according the the ACL Web site.

Having missed BB Jr’s Friday morning set (who scheduled THAT?), I was purely delighted to see him front and center at the listed “Lost Trailers” show on the BMI stage. However, especially since The Trailers’ other three members rock on quite well, it would have been nice of Bobby to have introduced them at the end when he proclaimed “I’m Bobby Bare Jr. and my band is the Young Criminals Starvation League.” I’ve always gotten a kick — and a CD — from his up-front self promotion, like at SXSW a couple of years ago and in Dallas more recently. However, introducing the thrown-together (?) band would not have cut into record sales, Bobby. Overall: A- show, which could have gone to A+ with a bit more stage manners, dood.
