The Austin Critics Table Awards 2006 Nominations

Wednesday, May 17, 2006

Critics are Grinches, at least in the public imagination. Yet they love to laud the artists who actually leaven their evening assignments with cultural richness and creative imagination. That's one reason more than a dozen critics from the American-Statesman and Austin Chronicle met recently to nominate dozens of Central Texans for the 2006 Austin Critics Table Awards. The winners will be announced — and Austin Arts Hall of Famer inductees Ada Anderson, Robert DeSimone, Jessie Otto Hite, Rodolfo Mendez, Charles Moore, David Nancarrow and Ken Webster will be fêted — 7 p.m. June 5 at Cap City Comedy Club. It's an eminently casual and, of course, free event. All are invited.
